The Gift of Food

I would like to interrupt this Christmas Baking Marathon to bring you an important service announcement! I saw this announcement on Dine & Dish, one of my favorite blogs, and decided I wanted to take part

During the holiday season most of us, myself included, worry about food in some sense. Whether you are hosting a family meal this holiday season, preparing a covered dish, or just worried about packing on a few extra pounds by eating too much, with the holiday season comes food...for most of us.

However, some this holiday season will be worrying about food in a completely different manner.  They will be wondering where their next meal will come from, and when their next meal will be. It really puts things in to prospective huh?

Share our Strength is a group dedicated to ending childhood hunger in the United States by 2015.  They are trying to ensure that the 17 million children who went hungry in the United States this year, have food on the table next year.

I think it is a wonderful cause, so I am partnering with them and over 50 other bloggers to raise awareness this holiday season.  If you are fortunate enough to have a roof over your head and a warm meal on the table, please consider giving this holiday season.  There are several ways to help. You can click on the button above and make a donation, or you can purchase the Share our Strength holiday cards featured throughout this post. You can also browse their site and find a ton of other ways to help support the cause. And don't forget about the power of Facebook and Twitter!
